Keyword Optimization - Part VIII (Web Page Content Optimization)
The
following are the
general steps that one would take in optimizing their website, using
the logic
and scientific techniques of search engine optimization.
1. Find the right search words or search phrases for your business.
2. Choosing an optimized domain name for your business.
3. Web page title, meta tags, file and directory optimization.
4. Web page Content optimization.
5. Alternate text of Web page image, objects and links optimization.
6. Link building and maintenance.
Optimizing the content of a web page, is perhaps the most important
part of any
good search engine optimization.
The other important part is in building quality links.
This article assumes that one has already read the article on obtaining
popular
key phrases for the purpose of optimizing their website.

The key steps in optimizing a web page of content is as below.
Step 1: One should already have the content ready for the page.
Step 2: One should have already done research and have a good set of
popular
search terms.
Step 3: Optimize the web page, using the popular search phrases.
Keeping in
mind, the readability, naturalness and good writing of that page.
Step 4: Make sure that no popular search phrase has been used more than
a
reasonable amount, which in my opinion is around three times.
Step 5: Keep the content up to a reasonable length, in my opinion
around 750
words per page.
The first step is Step 1, which is that one should have the content
ready,
before optimizing it.
This would save a lot of time and effort, rather than writing content
using the
popular search phrases, as it would not interrupt the flow of thought.
As content is the most important part of any web page, care should be
taken,
that it is original, and written in a free flow manner, so as to make
it
interesting.
If one cannot write good original content, then, in my opinion, they
should pay
for obtaining such content.
The reason for it to be original is that search engines and users in
general
would not have much of a good opinion about a site which features
content,
which are also available in other places in the internet.
And it has a bearing on establishing the site for the long term, and
search
engine optimization on it.

Building a site, involves putting good content, page by page, until one
has a
good number of content, and is on the way to establish themselves.
Another issue with content is that it should be written in a well
formed
language (English in this case), and should not have any typographical
errors
in it.
This is so as to create an impression of professionalism, and accuracy,
which goes
a long way to establish a site with the users as well as the search
engines.
Summarizing, one should have the content ready already, before
optimizing it.
The second step is Step 2, which is that one should have already done
the
background research and come up with a good set of popular search
phrases.
This is because, it would be easier to change sentences with the
popular search
terms, then it would be writing sentences using them.
Also once one has obtained a good set of popular key phrases, all that
is
remaining is to rewrite the sentences in all their web pages,
incorporating the
search terms.
If one has already not done this part, then they need to go to Keyword
optimization - Finding the right keywords/key phrases and find out how
to do
it.
The third step is Step 3, which is incorporating the set of popular
search
phrases, into their web pages.
To do this the following procedure, in my opinion, is beneficial.
- Read through each sentence, and see how it could be rewritten,
incorporating any popular search phrase.
- Incorporate the search terms, making sure that one does not
repeat any search term more than a reasonable number of times, which in
my opinion, is around three per page.
- One needs to make sure that they do not incorporate more than a
reasonable number of search phrases per page, which in my opinion, is
around three per page.
- Finish through the whole page, and make sure the page flow,
readability, naturalness, is preserved.
- Make sure, that the page is appealing and interesting, and fine
tune any adjustments.
- Keep the page content up to a reasonable length, which in my
opinion is around 750 words. If one needs to add more content, they
could create another page and do it.
