What are search engine optimization services ?

It is basically a series of techniques used to optimize your website for the search engines, while maintaining the quality of information and design, in it.

Any good search engine optimization company would do the following.

        Finding out the right keywords/key phrases through research, which best describe your business and that which people have been popularly using in the internet.

        Creating or changing the Meta tags of pages to be optimized. The Meta tags are the title tag, the description tag, and the keywords tag. The title tag contains the title to the page, which would be modified to be as descriptive of your page as possible, as well as have the targeted keywords/key phrases embedded in it. The description tag contains a short description of the page, and would be modified to contain targeted keywords/key phrases, while maintaining the descriptiveness of it. The keywords tag would be modified to include all the possible targeted keywords, without repetition of any.


        Developing or Modifying in order to create pages which are rich with the targeted keywords/key phrases. But keeping in mind the quality, readability, and usefulness of the page. Usually the targeted keywords/key phrases are repeated at most 300 times, to best optimize the page.

        Build your links with websites which are recognized as important, which have high rankings in the search engines, and which are in the same business as yours, but are not your direct competitors.

        Submit your website and/or pages to the major search engines and directories. This would mainly be by hand, as the major search engines and directories do not like automated submissions.

        Visitor tracking and statistics. The statistics would include, which page the visitor entered the website, from which page did they come to your website, from which page did they exit, how long did they stay, what all they did while they were at your website, and more. These statistics are used to to fine tune your website more, in order to attract highly targeted customers as against just visitors.

        Reporting your position in the major search engines. This would be done on an ongoing basis.
